Ingredients:

  • Carrot, Potato, Onion: 1 each; large sized
  • Cauliflower: 4 to 5 florets
  • Tomatoes, Capsicum: 2 each; fresh; medium sized cut into small-medium sized pieces
  • Pineapple: 2 or 3 slices
  • Apple: 1 medium sized apple chopped in small-medium sized pieces
  • A few stalks of French beans
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander: fresh, green, finely chopped
  • Black Salt; Tomato Ketchup and Red Chilli Powder

Steps to make the sizzler:

Step 1: Wash all the vegetables and chop them as directed. Take care to remove all the seeds from capsicum while chopping them.

Step 2: Take a large pot and keep all the vegetables (Carrot, Cauliflower, potato, and beans) to boil. Boil them on medium flame till they are half done. The vegetables should not be undercooked or overcooked. They should retain their crispiness and become soft as well.

Step 3: Put the chopped onions and capsicum aside for later use.

Step 4: Chop the apple and pineapple and put them aside for later use.

Step 5: Take a large sized kadhai and add 2 tbsp cooking oil. You can use any oil, but we suggest Olive Oil. Add the chopped onions and sauté them for some time. Once the onions have become soft and glossy, add all the boiled vegetables.

Step 6: Saute the vegetables for some time and add capsicum and tomatoes. Take care to remove the seeds of tomatoes before adding them in the kadhai.

Step 7: Keep on stirring the veggies with a spatula and add fruits in the last. Once you have added apple and pineapple, you have to sauté them for 1 or 2 minutes. Don’t sauté them for a long time, for the fruits will be caramelized and the veggies will become mushy.

Step 8: Add the spices – salt, red chilli powder; black salt; tomato ketchup and garnish with coriander.

Step 9: If you want the sizzler to be a little bit sour, you can add 1 tbsp of white vinegar. Don’t add too much.

Step 10: Toss the veggies in the kadhai a few times so that the spices are mixed properly with them.
